It’s been a busy and exciting few months for Solent Streetworks, travelling across the UK to attend, support, and showcase at some of the industry’s most important events. From cutting-edge transport innovations to traditional craftsmanship, here’s a round-up of where we’ve been.
Industry Events & Conferences
We kicked things off at Connected North, sharing how Solent Streetworks supports fibre rollouts with our permitting, noticing, Safe Digs and TM CAD drawing services. It was a great opportunity to connect with partners and discuss future FTTH builds.
The following week saw us at Utility Week Live in Birmingham, and then onto London for the GeoPlace reception and conference. These events offered valuable conversations around permitting, licensing, and traffic management solutions, as well as the chance to strengthen our growing network of industry contacts.
Another highlight was attending the Intelligent Transport Systems UK reception at the Houses of Parliament, where discussions centred on the future of mobility, from autonomous vehicles to EV infrastructure. From there, we went straight into MOVE 2025 at Excel London, joining the vibrant StartUp Zone at Stand 21 to talk streetworks, charging stations, collaboration, and consistency in infrastructure delivery.
We also travelled to St. George’s Park for an event hosted by LSBUD, reinforcing the importance of safe digging and collaborative working.
We were also proud to attend SEHAUC 2025 at Epsom Downs Racecourse, a day filled with live demonstrations, industry insights, and valuable networking opportunities.
Supporting Heritage & Community
Alongside industry conferences, Solent Streetworks were once again proud sponsors at the New Forest & Hampshire County Show, supporting the National Blacksmith Competition and hosting the Military Competition in the Blacksmiths & Farriers Marquee showcasing a wide variety of Wrought Ironwork.
Over three days, we celebrated outstanding craftsmanship, welcomed thousands of visitors, and had the chance to reconnect with some familiar faces—including TV personalities Charlie Dimmock, Jeff Stewart and representatives from our local partners at AFC Totton Football Club.
As Chair of the National Blacksmith Competition Committee, it’s always a privilege to support this traditional craft and showcase the skills of professional blacksmiths and farriers. The competition is one round of nine nationally, with strong ties to the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths, the Blacksmith’s Guild and the Worshipful Company of Farriers.
Looking Ahead
From major conferences to local community events, these past few months have highlighted just how broad and rewarding our work at Solent Streetworks can be. Whether we’re supporting innovation in transport, helping fibre rollouts run smoothly, or celebrating heritage crafts, our focus remains the same: collaboration, consistency, and connection.
A huge thank you to the organisers, competitors, industry partners, and everyone who made these events such a success. Planning is already underway for next year – and we can’t wait to see what’s ahead.
