Solent Streetworks at the Symology Conference in London: A Day of Learning, Networking, and Innovation

Today, Solent Streetworks had the privilege of attending the highly anticipated Symology Conference in London. As long-term users of Symology’s innovative software solutions, this event offered an excellent opportunity for our team to dive deeper into the capabilities of both Insight and Aurora—tools that have been integral to our daily operations for over a decade. The conference, expertly hosted by Symology’s dedicated team, featured a series of insightful presentations and discussions, giving us a comprehensive view of the software’s current features and the exciting roadmap for future developments.

A Decade of Daily Use: Embracing Symology’s Solutions

For over ten years, Solent Streetworks has relied on Symology’s software, whether through the trusted Insight platform or the newer Aurora. These solutions have become essential tools in managing the complex world of streetworks, from coordinating permits to ensuring compliance with key legislation like the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (#nrswa1991) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (#tma2004).

Today’s presentations reaffirmed just how versatile and robust Symology’s offerings are in helping us maintain high standards of safety and efficiency. Covering everything from streetworks permit management to advanced reporting functions, we gained valuable insights into how we can further optimise our processes to ensure that all streetworks are conducted smoothly, safely, and in full compliance with the industry’s strict regulations, including the Code of Practice and Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH).

The Future of Streetworks Software: A Look Ahead

One of the highlights of the day was the unveiling of Symology’s future roadmap. The development of their software continues to push boundaries, promising even more streamlined processes, enhanced reporting capabilities, and greater integration with evolving technologies. As digital infrastructure becomes more complex and the demand for rapid, efficient streetworks increases—especially with projects like the national fiber rollout—having cutting-edge tools will be key to staying ahead in the industry.

We’re excited about the future enhancements to Aurora and how they will empower us to deliver even greater levels of performance while maintaining our commitment to safety at streetworks (#safetyatstreetworks). With new functionalities and integrations, the future of streetworks management looks brighter than ever.

Networking: Reconnecting with Familiar Faces and Meeting New Ones

In addition to the informative sessions, the conference provided a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with industry colleagues and forge new relationships. It’s always a pleasure to see familiar faces from the streetworks community, as well as to meet new contacts who share our passion for safe, efficient, and well-coordinated streetworks.

The event was a reminder of the importance of collaboration in our industry. Whether it’s sharing best practices, discussing new challenges, or exploring emerging technologies, networking at events like this helps to strengthen our collective efforts in improving the management of streetworks.

Special Thanks to Mike & the Symology Team

We’d like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mike and the entire Symology team for hosting such an insightful and well-organised day. From start to finish, the event was a resounding success, packed with valuable information and the chance to engage with the broader community. We left the conference feeling inspired and ready to implement what we’ve learned in our ongoing projects.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to evolve in the fast-paced world of streetworks, Solent Streetworks remains committed to leveraging the latest technologies and best practices to ensure our projects are executed efficiently and safely. Our partnership with Symology, through tools like Insight and Aurora, will be central to this mission as we continue to work under key frameworks such as #nrswa1991 and #tma2004, and adhere to essential standards like the #codeofpractice and #sroh.

Stay tuned for more updates from Solent Streetworks as we continue to implement the latest software advancements and strive for excellence in all that we do.
